In a study of 734 subjects, homocysteine levels were found to be highest in subjects with the lowest intake of folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin B6. L-Arginine, has been reported to reduce blood homocysteine levels as well as decrease blood pressure since it plays a role in increasing the availability of nitric oxide, an important vasodilator in humans.
